CLASSES
-
This class is designed to work with preschool-aged students who are just beginning their academic journey. The students will focus on foundational skills such as counting, number recognition, letter recognition, colors, shapes, and more. They will engage in arts and crafts, sensory play, and physical activities to prepare them for their transition into elementary studies.
-
Our Primary classroom is curated for students who are ready to build upon the foundational skills they learned during their preschool years. The class will introduce reading and reading comprehension tasks, simple mathematics and number sense, as well as grammar skills and early writing. These students will also begin following the history, geography, science, and art lessons provided for all of the elementary classes.
This year, in particular, they will learn about:
Geography: American states and capitals, major landmarks, and national parks, Canadian provinces and territories.
History: Early modern historical events from 1600-1850.
Science: Basic chemistry, the scientific method, atoms and bonds, chemical reactions.
Art: Early Modern Art, famous artists and their works.

Our Early Elementary classroom aims to help students transition from basic skills and concepts to developing a keen curiosity for learning. In this class, students will learn to write detailed and concise compositions while refining their writing style. They will also review grammar rules through sentence diagramming and peer-editing exercises.
Additionally, students will work in groups to prepare projects based on their lessons, which will help them practice their public speaking and presentation skills. We aim to ensure that students are well-prepared to enter a dynamic and challenging learning environment in the coming years at Freedom Academy.

Our Upper Elementary class focuses on turning our foundational education into logical and critical thinking. Our students will have the opportunity to enhance their writing skills through a variety of activities that are tailored to their interests and academic needs.
They will be encouraged to write complex essays that not only showcase their comprehension of the subject matter but also demonstrate their ability to think critically and analytically. Additionally, our students will have the chance to let their imaginations
run wild as they compose fictional stories with unique characters and settings.
Furthermore, our students will engage in project-based learning that will allow them to dive deeper into the subjects they are learning. They will be given the opportunity to create projects that are based on historical events and scientific concepts, where they can apply their knowledge and skills in a hands-on and practical way. By doing so, our students will develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subjects they are studying. The Upper Elementary class is where students will thrive and achieve their full potential.
